Fareeda is one of the coolest people I know. She is one of those mythical creatures who everybody loves, like a magical unicorn. Lucky for me we share an avid fondness for travel, wine and fine dining.
Last year we went on a short summer break to Mallorca, the biggest of the Spanish Balearic Islands. The capital, Palma de Mallorca, is sometimes fondly referred to as small Barcelona. It is a beautiful Island with a rich culture and history.
Of course we spent most of our time eating and drinking. Going out to restaurants is relatively cheap and the food is gorgeous in its simplicity. For instance, I am totally hooked on those luscious summer tomatoes, served on toast with a little bit of olive oil and some anchovies. And don’t get me started about the Jamón Ibérico.

Last year Fereeda became the chef of a new vegan orientated restaurant, Achterwerk. Because we both spend a lot of time in the kitchen thinking up dishes, we decided we wanted to try and collect some recipes, maybe even put together a basic cookbook. Since we work a lot and we don’t have copious amounts of spare time, progress is slow, but now and then you can find our endeavours on this blog.
