Someone once told me that exposing one’s habitat is like exposing one’s soul. Having said that I’d like to give you all a little peek into our humble home.
I have to admit I’m a bit of a hoarder, with a fetish for everything Japanese. I can’t precisely say where this obsession originated but it has persisted over the years. It manifests itself in my many Japanese figurines, like the little maneki neko cats and my geeky anime action figures. This could be perceived as ultra nerdy but I like to believe I manage to navigate the fine line between stylish and compulsive. Also the wood prints we brought back from Japan and the many books written by Japanese authors are a clear mark of my interests.
We live in a small one-bedroom apartment, which can make it a challenge to keep the clutter down to a minimum. Simon is heavily into music; his guitar collection and supplementing gear take up a lot of space. I believe this gives the apartment a very artistic appearance and it makes me feel interesting by proxy.
I have to say I love where we live, and with a bit of discipline the place can look really nice. Someday I’d like to move to a bigger apartment or house, but for now I am very happy living here.
